KarmaFX offering free VST synths and plugins
If you have come across it already, KarmaFX offer a number of professional grade VST plugins and synths for free. Well they are actually Donationware, so if you use them and like them, please consider making a donation.
Word on the street is that the modular synth, in particular, is very very good.

It's plugins like this that make me sad I dropped Cubase.

I’m a sucker for free stuff… and these plugins look to be well worth a donation though.
